penis and testicles

i came across these images in the course of my job-related research today, and i liked them. for that reason and that reason alone i share them with all who visit my little portion of the internet universe. the male genitalia are more complex than i sometimes realize. (who knew a testicle had an appendix? and who knew what a raphe was?) go figure. and today i typed a disporportionate number of urologic operative notes that these images helped me complete to my own satisfaction. i hope you find them as informative and enthralling as i do.

in other news, the dogs have not been eating and have been acting lethargic and mopey for the last couple of weeks. dagmar (who has a penis but no testicles) was the worse off of the two, so kara took him to the vet yesterday. she was sold some expensive canned food, which both dogs seem to like. today they're eating and have much more energy than they have in the last couple of weeks. previously we'd been feeding them iams dry puppy food, at which lately they have been turning up their noses. dagmar had blood drawn and the vet called today to say his lab values are within normal limits. so maybe they're just finicky? we'll have to find some sort of balance, i suppose. it'll get worked out.

other other news: kara and i are going to seattle to see rufus wainwright (her newest crush) on thursday, and next monday i'm returning to my quality assurance duties in the office. so these are exciting times to be sure, pictures of male genitalia notwithstanding.
