cool saturday

i've had a hard time finding something to read the last few days, since finishing ripley. i tried the newest nicola griffith but found i wasn't in the mood. i started an early nabokov but i was a little bored with it. i tried a graham greene but it didn't quite capture my interest. now i'm onto joyce carol oates, and i'm not sure about that one yet. i'm giving it a chance. i've had a good run, though, picking book after book that i'm interested in at least enough to finish. the run seemed to last many months, pretty lucky.

it's cool out today, cool but sunny. i like it. but we're taking it easy today, a lazy saturday. i'm folding laundry and soon i'll start chicken, black beans, corn, and salsa going in the slow cooker, and we're having that sort of day today.

by the way, to the speculum shirt yesterday on many errands i got no responses, but even so i think i'll wear it sparingly, as i can see the potential error in judgment with it.
