vulnerable

my new pet. i had to act fast with my camera (and my wits) or this little creature would have gotten clean away. this is one of about six i saw in our front lawn this morning. i rather like having them around. though they're probably bad for something, right? i don't know what the longterm goals of a snail are. (i took another couple of pictures, that didn't come out, of a pair that appeared postcoitus - will they die content now?) they eat grass or dirt or something else i want to keep, right? will they eat my house? am i going to have to open up a can of whup-ass on these sweet slimy snails? say it ain't so. i've already named him felix.
