one of my colleagues in the transcription department recently relocated to new orleans, and kept her tacoma-based job. this is an exciting concept. i wonder if kara and i could swing moving to canada, with me keeping my american job. and i wonder if kara could get a job there, with her masters in criminial justice. is there any crime in canada? there's got to be some. british columbia
is better than portland, better even than seattle; it's outside the united states. (plus what i've read so far of the best american short stories 2007 isn't really rocking my world; we should totally get out of here.) it would be great if we could make that happen. it feels like a bit of a pipe dream, especially given all the work we are going to have to do around this house to make it ready to be put on the market. plus the housing market's rather bad still, isn't it? okay, so maybe there's no sense of immediacy here, but it's an idea that warms me.

Well, Vancouver is great but it's more expensive than Seattle. Your idea of Baltimore sounds good. When will Kara get her degree in criminal justice?
